Cairnview is situated approximately 1.5 miles from 9 hole golf course and tennis court.  An activity park is also found at 1.5 miles in the direction of Aboyne.

There are many golf courses in the area, 9 hole and 18 hole.  These are found at Aboyne, Aboyne Loch, Ballater, Banchory, Braemar, Inchmarlo, Lumphanan, Peterculter,  Torphins and Tarland.

Deeside Festival takes place during July in Aboyne with many events organised in the area.

Many art galleries in the area including the Milton Gallery and Restaurant adjacent to Crathes Castle, The Lost Gallery at Strathdon and exhibitions run throughout Deeside during the summer months .

Historical castles to visit including Balmoral (open to the public when the Royal Family are not in residence), Crathes Castle, Craigievar Castle, Castle Fraser, Drum Castle, Castle of Braemar.

Whisky distilleries offering guided tours and a chance to taste the malts.  Nearest distillery is Lochnagar.

Aberdeen, 25 miles away, offers high street shopping.
